Choose the QR type by what happens after the scan

Qrcado supports 25 QR types: 18 dynamic and 7 static. The type you pick decides whether the phone reads a payload directly, follows an editable redirect, or opens a hosted mobile page.

A static type is best for stable actions that don't need Qrcado analytics. A dynamic type is best when the content may change, placements need comparison, or the scanner needs a hosted page.

Dynamic types host a mobile page you control; static types encode the data straight into the code.

How to choose the right QR type

Start with what should happen after the scan. If the destination is a fixed piece of data — a Wi-Fi password, a phone number, plain text — a static type encodes it directly into the pattern and works forever, offline, with no account. If the destination is content that can change — a menu, a document, a landing page — a dynamic type points to a hosted page you can edit after printing, and every scan is counted.

Two practical rules save most reprints. First, when in doubt, pick dynamic: the printed pattern never changes, so you can fix a wrong link or swap a campaign without touching the print. Second, match the type to the destination instead of linking a generic URL — a vCard Plus saves straight to contacts and a coupon tracks redemptions, which a plain link cannot do. If you are still unsure, the static vs dynamic comparison walks through the trade-offs in two minutes.
