Free tools, no strings

These tools run entirely in your browser. The static QR generator encodes your text, link, Wi-Fi network or contact card on your device and gives you a file to download — nothing is uploaded, no account is created, and the code it produces never expires because the data lives inside the pattern itself. The QR scanner reads codes from your camera or an image and shows you the decoded content before you open anything, which is also the safest way to check an unknown code you found in the wild.

The tools cover one-off jobs. When a code needs to keep working after the destination changes — a menu, a price list, a campaign page — that is what dynamic codes are for: the print stays the same while you edit where it points, and scan analytics show whether the placement is earning its keep. Everything you learn with the free tools carries over; the guides explain sizing, printing and scan safety in more depth.

Before printing anything the generator produces, three checks prevent almost every failed scan: size — the code needs roughly one tenth of its intended scan distance in width, so a poster read from two metres wants a 20 cm code (full tables here); contrast — dark modules on a light background, never the reverse; and a real test — the finished proof, on the final material, with more than one phone, in the light it will actually hang in.
