How it works

Make a WiFi QR code in three steps

Can I change the Wi-Fi password after printing?

No. A static Wi-Fi code stores your network details in the pattern, so a new password means printing a fresh code. Keep the printed one somewhere easy to swap.

Can I track how many guests connected?

No. The code hands the details straight to the phone with no server involved, so there's nothing to count. Static Wi-Fi codes don't offer analytics.

Is it safe to share my password this way?

For guest networks, yes — a scan is safer than reading a password aloud. For sensitive networks, set up a separate guest SSID rather than exposing your main one.

Which phones support it?

Modern iPhone and Android cameras read Wi-Fi codes natively and offer to join. Very old devices may need a QR scanner app.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. The whole point is connecting to Wi-Fi, so the code itself needs no connection — the network name, password and security type are all inside it.

Set it up with the print job in mind

  • Select the correct security type.
  • Enter the network name and password exactly.
  • Test with more than one phone before displaying the code.

Questions to answer before publishing

  • Will the information change? If it might, choose a dynamic type instead; this static payload cannot be edited after printing.
  • What should the printed instruction say? Describe the result of scanning in a few words rather than using “Scan me”.
  • Does each placement need separate reporting? This static type has no Qrcado analytics.
  • Has the final proof been tested? Check the real size, surface, lighting and mobile destination with more than one phone.
