Scan to chat

How it works

Set up a WhatsApp QR code in three steps

  1. Add your number

Enter the WhatsApp number you want chats to reach, including the country code.

  2. Write the first message

Set the text that appears ready to send — like "Hi, I'd like to order" or "I have a question".

  3. Print and share

Download the code and add it to flyers, packaging or a shop window for instant chats.

Why static WhatsApp

A shortcut straight into the chat

Opens a ready chat

Scanners land in WhatsApp with your number and first message already in place.

No number saving

People reach you without adding you as a contact first — one scan and they're chatting.

Fixed number and text

The number and message can't be edited later and scans aren't tracked, so double-check them before you print.

WhatsApp QR code FAQ

Can I change the number or message after printing?

No. A static WhatsApp code fixes your number and prefilled text in the pattern, so edits mean a new code. For a contact point you can update, route people to a dynamic business page instead.

Can I see how many people scanned it?

No. The code opens WhatsApp directly without a tracking step, so there are no scan stats. If you need scan analytics, use a dynamic code that redirects through a short link.

Does the person need my number saved?

No. WhatsApp opens the chat using the number inside the code, so they can message you without adding a contact.

Can I leave the message blank?

Yes. You can set a prefilled message or leave it empty so the chat opens with a blank text box ready to type.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?

No. It works with any WhatsApp account. Business features are optional and set up inside WhatsApp itself, not in the code.

A practical setup

  • Use the full international phone number.
  • Write a short message that starts the conversation naturally.
  • Test the code on a phone without the contact saved.

Questions to answer before publishing

  • Will the information change? If it might, choose a dynamic type instead; this static payload cannot be edited after printing.
  • What should the printed instruction say? Describe the result of scanning in a few words rather than using “Scan me”.
  • Does each placement need separate reporting? This static type has no Qrcado analytics.
  • Has the final proof been tested? Check the real size, surface, lighting and mobile destination with more than one phone.
