Curved boxes, foil and matte laminates all affect the scan. Keep the code on a flat, non-reflective panel where you can.
Where to use
The box is the one thing every customer holds. A QR code turns it into setup help, registration, ingredient details or a reorder link — no insert to print or lose.
Packaging codes are scanned up close, but small print and curves need extra margin. The rule of thumb: minimum size ≈ scan distance ÷ 10.

Note: Test on the actual material and finish — a code that scans on paper can fail on foil or a tight curve.
