What is a digital product passport?
It's a set of product information — materials, sourcing, repair and recycling — made accessible from the product itself, often via a QR code. The EU is phasing in digital product passport rules across categories from 2027 onward.
Will this make my product compliant?
A QR code is the delivery method, not the ruleset. Requirements differ by product category and market, so confirm your category's requirements before relying on it for compliance.
Can it work as a GS1 code too?
GS1 is standardizing QR codes that carry both retail barcode data and a link to product information. If you need GS1 formatting, check what your retailers and region require.
Can I update the information after printing?
Yes. Because the code is dynamic, you can revise a certificate, batch note or recycling detail without changing the pack.
